2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division Special Troops Battalion is inactivated and re-designated as Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion,10th Mountain Division (LI), during a ceremony at the unit quad. Major Ronald Meyers, battalion executive officer, presided over the ceremony. Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion Command Sergeant Major Roy L. Rocco is also present. According to an article published on the Fort Drum Web site, '[Headquarters and Headquarters Company] HHC is re-designated as Operations Company, B Company as Intelligence and Sustainment Company, and Network Support Company became Division Signal Company. All other companies remained the same'

Hunter, 20, of Ona, West Virginia, a military policeman, who was deployed to Iraq from May 2008 to May 2009 while assigned to 10th Mountain Division Headquarters, faces two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing deaths of two comrades in an apartment just outside of Fort Drum.
