Fort Drum Public Affairs Office publishes an article about the change to Army Regulation 635-200, paragraphs 5-13 and 5-17 on February 10, 2009 by the Assistant Secretary of the Army (ASA), Manpower & Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Ronald J. James, concerning the separation of soldiers for personality disorders. The major change is that the separation authority for soldiers currently serving or who have served in an imminent danger area is now the general court-martial convening authority, whose authority may not be delegated. In all other separations, authority remains the special court-martial convening authority.
